How To Download
and Save My Graphics to your own computer
(or any graphics on the internet)

Many of you have sent letters asking how to download and save my graphics to your own computer.
When I first started browsing the internet, I too had to ask how to do this. Once you learn it is so easy and so much fun!

Here's the directions for MAC computers:
1. Click Mouse on image and ever so lightly move curser up.
2. A screen pops up.
3. Select "Download image to disk"
4. Choose where you want to save it.

Here's the directions for WINDOWS Computers:
The first step I would suggest to you, from my own experience, is go into the program on your computer called "Explorer" and create a new folder on your C Drive or main drive and name it something like "Downloaded Graphics" Then create new folders in the "Downloaded Graphics" folder and name them the name of the artist so you'll always know who the artist of the graphics are and can give proper credit if and when you use them...for example:

Explorer can be started by going to the Start Button then locating and clicking "Windows Explorer"
Now for the fun part!
To download the graphics and save them to your own computer, put your mouse over the graphic you want to download and then "right-click" with your mouse on the graphic. If you're using Netscape's Browser, when you right-click a menu will pop up and you should choose "save image as".
If you're using AOL or Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) it will say "Save Picture As".
Then a box will pop up that says "Save As...or "Save Picture"
In this box you will see "File Name" and "Save as Type"
For the file name it should already filled in with the file name the artist originally gave it- if not, type in a descriptive file name for the graphic such as "bluehouse". For the "save as type" that is the file extension, or format that the graphic is in..such as .gif  .jpg .bmp etc... All of my graphics at Original Country Clipart by Lisa online are .gif graphics and this is what should be in the "Save as Type box. It should automatically be filled in for you.
Okay, now that you have all this filled in you will need to locate the folder on your computer you want to save the graphic in. To do this, within the "save as.." box, click until you locate the folder you named "DownloadedGraphics" and then double click that folder until you see the artist's folder you want to save the graphic in. Double-Click the correct artist's folder and Then click the SAVE box.
You're done! That's it!  Now when you're using a program that you need a graphic for all you have to do is locate those folders and the correct graphic file and select it. You'll always know right where it is on your computer and who made the graphic!
Please do not download any graphics without the permission of the artist- either written permission in an email or by reading their webpages.  It will usually say on the webpage whether or not it is okay to download the graphics for free or not. For example, on the bottom of my main home page it says
"All Graphics on This Site Property of Original Country Clipart by Lisa
and may not be copied, redistributed, sold, or used without permission
from Original Country Clipart by Lisa.
Original Country Clipart by Lisa Copyright © 1998-2005"
This message is on the pages that I do not allow any graphics to be downloaded or saved from. On my FREE GRAPHICS pages, this message is not there, but there are some guidelines at the top of each of my Free Graphics pages that have to be followed in exchange for allowing you to downlod my graphics. Please read carefully and follow each artists rules.
If you still need help, please feel free to email me anytime and I'll be glad to try and help you.
Thanks and Have Fun Downloading!!
