Apr 12, 2006 1 Hello Friends! My name is Lisa, I'm 41 yrs old (picture was taken when I was 34...I'll post a new one soon!) and I'm a wife and a Mom of 6 beautiful children. Jessica, Robby, Heather, Joey, Sarah and Andrea.... and 2 dogs, Rascal and Amber!   I also have a job working as a Contemporary Keyboard Player at my church and I really love it. I've played keyboard there for over 10 years now.   Besides creating graphics and playing the keyboard, I love to do many types of craft projects. I especially enjoy painting on wood, sewing, and making floral arrangements. I also enjoy yard work and gardening. I love to play games and watch movies with my family and I love to cook (and eat!). I also LOVE to go camping and fishing. I started creating graphics back in February of 1998. In the last 8 years my collection and my business have grown to a point I never thought could be possible! When I first started browsingthe internet, I too had to ask how to do this. Once you learn it is soeasy and so much fun! Here's the directions for MAC computers: 1. Click Mouse on image and ever so lightly move curser up. 2. A screen pops up. 3. Select "Download image to disk" 4. Choose where you want to save it. Here's the directions for WINDOWS Computers: The first step I would suggest to you, from my ownexperience, is go into the program on your computer called "Explorer" andcreate a new folder on your C Drive or main drive and name it somethinglike "Downloaded Graphics" Then create new folders in the "Downloaded Graphics"folder and name them the name of the artist so you'll always know who theartist of the graphics are and can give proper credit if and when you usethem...for example: Explorer can be started bygoing to the Start Button then locating and clicking "Windows Explorer" Now for the fun part! To download the graphics andsave them to your own computer, put your mouse over the graphic you wantto download and then "right-click" with your mouse on the graphic. If you'reusing Netscape's Browser, when you right-click a menu will pop up and youshould choose "save image as". If you're using AOL or MicrosoftInternet Explorer (MSIE) it will say "Save Picture As". Then a box will pop up thatsays "Save As...or "Save Picture" In this box you will see "FileName" and "Save as Type" For the file name it shouldalready filled in with the file name the artist originally gave it- ifnot, type in a descriptive file name for the graphic such as "bluehouse".For the "save as type" that is the file extension, or format that the graphicis in..such as .gif  .jpg .bmp etc... This is how they SHOULD NOT look: This WAS a transparent .gif file but it was saved incorrectly as a .jpg file instead of a .gif file.  All my web graphics have transparent backgroundsand are created in .gif format.Your settings in your AOL programcan actually change the format of my graphicswhen you try to save them and that's not goodbecause they need to be transparent .gif filesin order to look right on your webpage and in order to havetransparent backgrounds with no white square background around them. Here's what to do to get rid of this problem! In your AOL (Version 4 or 5),click on "My AOL" then click on "Preferences" then click on "WWW" then click on the "Web Graphics" tab then make sure the box that says "Use Compressed Graphics" is NOT checked! In your AOL (Version 6 or 7),click on Settings, then Preferences.. You'll see a screen with several options. From the left hand column, find "Internet Properties" and then the Web Graphics Option. Select "Never Compress Graphics" and click OK. Then, you MUST "Clear Your Cache Files" from the AOL browser or nothing will change and this problem won't be fixed. Your AOL browserwill show you the exact same page and you'll be downloading the graphics as .art files stillbecause it will show you the webpages from it's memory.To Clear your Cache Files, In AOL Version 4: Go to 'MyAOL', preferences, advanced, purge cache. Close your AOL browser, disconnect, then re-connect and your cache will be cleared. Now re-load my webpages and re-download allthe graphics as .gif files! (if you do not re-downloadall the graphics this will not work) Here is anotherhelpful tip from Yvonne who obtained thehelp of an online AOL tech. "Hereis what I had to do......I had to:  go to Start, click on Settings,then Control Panel,and then click on Internet Options.  From the "General" tab, I hadto godown and click "delete files".  Once that was done and I went backto your site,the ".gif" format was then offered as a save option.  Basically the techsaid that "clearing the cache" can be a problem if it gets too full." If you still have questionsor more need help, please just email me anytime. 1025 Apr 12, 2006 1 How to Add Text to MyCountry Labels in MS WORD First you need to have my labels alreadyon your computer.... either on my Version 12 on 3 CDs that youpurchased or by saving the labels from my website. If you are using Version 12 the labels arelocated on Disk 1. If you've downloaded labels from my websiteyou'll just need to know where on your computer you saved them to. Ok, let's begin. Open your MS Word ProgramNow. It may look like this: You'll need to start a New Blank Documentso it looks like the image below (with the white paper showing) Now click on "Tools" then "Letters and Mailings"then "Envelopes and Labels". A Box that looks like this will open up. On the "Labels" Tab choose "Options" Then the "Label Options" Box will open up.Here you'll choose your label. I used Avery Address Labels #8663 to make a label using my Apple Core Label.They are 2" x 4" labels. Click "OK" when you're ready. This will take you back to the "Envelopesand Labels" Box where you'll now click "Full page of the same label"and then "New Document" Now your screen should look like this...witha label template open. Here's where you'll begin adding my labels. To Insert a Label Graphic click "Insert"then "Picture" then "From File" An "Insert Picture" Box should come up whereyou'll find the folder on your computer where you havemy labels saved. Choose a Label and then click "Insert" After you click "Insert" the label will showup in the first label area. Now manipulate the label by stretching itand/or aligning it until it fits properly in the size label area you're working with. When you have the label positioned whereyou want it, like I have below in the picture, then copy and paste thelabel to all of the label areas to fill up your sheet of labels. You mayhave to do some more "positioning" of each label. For myself, on my computer, the labels seemto show up too much to the right so I use the "Decrease Indent" button (1 click) to movethem and then I scale/stretch/shrink the label until itfits right. You'll have to figure out what works rightfor you depending on the settings you have in your version ofMS Word. OK! Now you have a full sheet of labels allready to go! Here's where you'll begin adding your textto the labels. Now you'll choose "Insert" and then "TextBox" and you'll need to drag the text box to fitthe label like in the picture below. Notice the dotted outline of the text box With the "dotted outlined border of the textbox" still showing, right click your mouse and a menu like theone below will show up. Choose "Format Text Box" You don't want the text box to be white orany other color because that will cover up the label.... and you don't want any type of line borderaround the text box either.... so you'll want to choose the "Colors andLines" box and choose "No Fill" and "No Line" Now you can see the whole label and yourtext box is transparent! Now just click inside the text box and starttyping wherever you want to. You can position the text however you want and change the font, the font color andsize, etc.. Now just click somewhere away from the textbox to get rid of the text box. You can type on the rest of the labels orcopy and paste the same text onto the other labels...however you wantto do it. Now ready to print a whole sheet of labels!!! I hope this tutorial helped you. To add text, click on the "Text Tool" (it looks like a letter A) Now click on the image (banner or button)  You will then see a new box where you can type your text.  Choose your Font Name, Font Style and Font Size that you want to use.  It's Very Important that you also select the "Antialias" effect here so that your text will be smooth looking.  Click "OK" and you will see your text "Floating" on the banner or button.  Position it where you want it and click off of it.   When you are satisfied with the way it looks you'll need to Decrease the Color Depth back to 256 Colors by clicking: Colors/Decrease Color Depth/256 Colors (8 bit)  OR  Image/Decrease Color Depth/256 Colors (8 bit)  In the newer versions of Paint Shop Pro make sure you click on 'Image" then "Palette" then "Set Palette Transparancy" then choose "set the transparency to the background color" which should be normally white.   Now you can re-save the image WITH A NEW NAME by clicking  File/Save As In the "Save As" Box choose the location on your hardrive where you'll want to save the new banner or button and name it in the "Filename" box. Also, make sure that the "Save As Type" has "GIF-CompuServe" Selected  and that the "Sub Type" has "Version 87" selected. The first step I would suggest to you, from my ownexperience, is go into the program on your computer called "Explorer" andcreate a new folder on your C Drive or main drive and name it somethinglike "Downloaded Graphics" Then create new folders in the "Downloaded Graphics"folder and name them the name of the artist so you'll always know who theartist of the graphics are and can give proper credit if and when you usethem...for example: Explorer can be started bygoing to the Start Button then locating and clicking "Windows Explorer" Now for the fun part! To download the graphics andsave them to your own computer, put your mouse over the graphic you wantto download and then "right-click" with your mouse on the graphic. WMF is an image format that is a "vector" format.  WMF stands for "Windows Meta File".  You can resize the image all you want and it will NEVER get blurry or distorted. It will always print perfectly crisp and clear at ANY size.   2. Will these WMFs work on my computer? Yes, if you are using a Windows Computer. These files work wonderfully in publishing programs such as MS Publisher, MS Word, Print Shop, Print Artist, Print Master, Home Publishing, American Greetings CreataCard, Art Explosion Scrapbook Factory, etc..   3. Are WMFs at least 300 dpi? WMF Printable Clip Art IS BETTER THAN 300 DPI....there is NO dpi to a wmf file because it is not made up of pixels or dots. WMF is a vector format.  A vector format has no size ...and you can shrink it as small as you want or enlarge it as big as you want with absolutely no change in resolution at all.  It will never get blurry...you'll never be able to say you made it "too" big.  Dpi has no meaning when you are talking about a vector file.   4. How will I know if I'll like using the wmf clipart? You will love them! You won't believe how beautifully they print and how much control you have with resizing them as small or large as you want, and with being able to place them right next to each other, touching, overlapping, on top of each other, with NO backgrounds at all to get in the way! What should I do? You will need to email lisa@countryclipart.com Is the CD that is not working part of a 3 or 6 CD set? If so, do all of the other CDs work for you? If only 1 CD in a set does not work or is giving you problems, the CD will be replaced for no charge, basically no questions asked. If you only purchased 1 CD and it isn't working right for you, when you send your email please include a detailed description of what happens when you put the CD in your CD-ROM drive and any errors you receive. Please make sure your CD-ROM's auto-run feature is turned on. You can check this by trying other CDs you have that normally start up by themselves. If other CDs don't start either, your auto-run is most likely disabled. Lisa's CDs are all designed to start automatically for you. They can be manually started too by locating the START file and double clicking on it, but you shouldn't need to do this. If it is a problem with the actual CD, your CD will be replaced for no charge. You will need to send back any CD that does not work in order for it to be replaced. If you are on a MAC computer, the CD might not be compatible on your MAC. All CDs from Original Country Clipart by Lisa are compatible with ALL Windows Operating Systems.   2. I've had my CD for quite a while and suddenly can't get it to work anymore. You should examine it for scratches or excess fingerprints and dirt. Clean it if necessary. If you recently install Windows XP and the CD is over a year old,  go to "My Computer" and look by your CD-ROM drive to see if "OCCbyLisa....CD" is written there. I purchased a collection and the password to download it    won't work.   2. I purchased a collection and was given a link to a zip file to    download.  I've never downloaded a zip file before.    What do I do?       1 . I purchased a collection and the password to download it won't work. If you're seeing this error: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required. This does not mean your password is bad necessarily. Sometimes when you receive a link to click on inside of an email and it is a long link, the link separates into 2 lines, making the actual link a bad link. Take a look at the link you were given and make absolutely sure it starts with "http://www" and ends with either ".html", ".htm", ".zip" or ".exe". You'll be able to see this in your browser's address bar at the top. If it is incomplete, type or copy and paste the rest of the link into the address bar and click enter. The error above can show up even if you typed the password correctly, but the username INcorrectly. Close out your browser. Go back to the link and when the password box pops up again, first ERASE anything already typed in both the username and the password box and re-type them in from scratch. Be very careful to notice uppercase and lowercase letters as they are case-sensitive. You must type them exactly or you will get this error. Make sure if you ordered a package with several collections and/or memberships, that you are using the Correct username and password for the correct link to the collection you are trying to access. Re-check the email or page you were given with the link/username/password on it. Turn off any secuirty software you might have running, close and re-open your browser and try again. Any website that uses Original Country Clipart by Lisa's graphics must give credit and link to www.countryclipart.com on their website.  The credit link must work and must go to www.countryclipart.com when it is clicked. Those who have purchased and are just decorating their webpages with the artwork are only required to place the credit link on their main webpage in a place easily seen by their visitors. Those selling items made with Lisa's artwork on them must give credit on each page that advertises an item made with the artwork on it.   3. How do I give proper credit on PRINTED ITEMS that     I SELL? It depends on what the item is. You will need to print my "copyright/credit statement" which is: "Artwork Copyright Original Country Clipart by Lisa www.countryclipart.com" somewhere on the item or on something attached to the item before it can be available for purchase. For items like cards and invitations that have a backside, the credit statement MUST be printed on the back of each card. For stationery sheets, recipe cards, or items printed only on one side, not binded together in pads, the credit MUST be printed somewhere on each paper, usually on the very bottom and it can be printed in small text as long as it can still be read. For items that you are unable to print this statement on, such as small magnets, tiny candy wrappers or mint books, sheets of labels, business cards, etc..you will need to print the credit statement on a piece of paper included with your customer's order. For items that have hang tags attached to them, this credit statement can be printed right on the hang tag. Labels can also be attached to the actual item (such as the back of a notepad) with this credit statement printed on it. As long as you have printed on or attached the above credit statement to the item you are legally allowed to sell it. Also, proper credit and a clickable link back to www.countryclipart.com must be on all web pages that show any samples of items for sale that have my artwork on them.     4. Yes, here's the How to type on labels tutorial .         Apr 12, 2006 1 Downloading and Unzipping Directions for Collections purchased from Original Country Clipart by Lisa   This page has a lot to read which makes this task seem really hard but it's not...it's quick and very easy.  It's as easy as a click of a couple of buttons and unzipping only takes a minute once you know which settings to use and how to do it correctly.  If you've ordered a download version of any of my graphic collections,  here are some tips to make things a little easier for you.  Once your order is processed you will be given a link to download the graphics from.  The file(s) you will be downloading are called ".zip" files.   Zip files are compressed files.  This means that I can take hundreds of graphic files and "zip them up" all into 1 file for you to download. Some of my collections contain hundreds, even thousands or tens of thousands of images!  If I didn't zip up all these files, you would have to save each graphic by right-clicking on each individual graphic and choosing save as, which would take absolutely forever!  You will need to "unzip" these zip files with a special unzipping program.   The unzipping program that  I recommend is Winzip and you can download it free from www.winzip.com   Just choose the demo or trial version until if and when you choose to purchase it.  The demo version works the same as if you had purchased it, only it expires after a set amount of days. Download and Install WinZip and when it runs for the first time, if you have the option to start this program in "Classic" View, go ahead and do that. I personally think this is the easiest mode to work in.  Now close out WinZip.   Once you've download and installed Winzip, now you should make a new folder on your computer ahead of time and name it "LisasCountryGraphics" or "LisasWhateverCollection (The name of the collection you purchased) so that you have a place to unzip all the files to and can remember where on your computer that you unzipped them to.  I either make the new folder right on my desktop by right-clicking and choosing "New" then "Folder" and then typing in a name to give the folder, or on my C drive by clicking on "My Computer" then double-clicking the "C Drive" and then "right-clicking" and choosing "New" then "Folder" and then typing in a name for the new folder.   After you've made your new folder, go ahead and start downloading the zip files of my graphics that you purchased into that folder. When the "FileDownload" box pops up you will want to click on the "Save" button, not on Open. Click the Save button and another box will open up and here is where you will locate that new folder you made...once you've located it, double click on it so that you're inside of it (You'll see NO files because you're in an empty folder right now) and then click the "Save" button again. Now the zip file will begin downloading into your new folder. When the download is complete, click "Close" to close out that box.   Now using "My Computer", locate that new folder you made, double click on it to open it up and you should see the zip file you just downloaded in that folder.  Double-click on the zip file and Winzip will open up.  In WinZip you should now see a box with all of the file names of each graphic listed in it.  Make sure that you have "All Files" selected. Click on the "Extract" button. This will open up another box where you will see a "Folders/Drives" window and you'll click until you get to that new folder you first made. Don't click anything yet. You want to make sure first that you have "Use Folder Names" or "Save Folder Information" selected so that all my graphics stay inside their named folders. This way you'll be able to find the type of graphic you are looking for easily. Now, with the folder you made selected and highlighted, now click the "Extract" button. The graphics will now begin extracting right into your new folder. When the extraction is complete, close out Winzip.   To access the unzipped artwork files, open My Computer again, click until you locate that new folder you made, open up that folder and now you should see all of the files in the collection. You will be able to double-click on the .gif web graphic files to see a preview of them or to open them up in your computer's default program for opening .gif files.  If you have Windows XP you should be able to double-click on the wmf files too, and they'll open using Windows Picture Viewer so that you can preview them.  You might not be able to double-click on the  .wmf printable/resizable clipart and preview them if your computer isn't set up to automatically know what program to open them with.  This is nothing to worry about. To view and use the .wmf clipart, just start your desktop publishing program (MS Publisher or Word, Print Artist, Print Master, Print Shop, etc..) and "Insert" the Clipart From File to open it up into your publishing program.
